What is EFT Tapping?

EFT tapping is a method that combines ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. The technique involves tapping on specific meridian points on the body while focusing on a particular issue. This process is believed to restore balance in your body’s energy system and treat pain.

EFT Tapping for Anxiety and Depression

EFT tapping has been used to treat people with anxiety and depression. The technique is believed to calm the amygdala, the part of the brain responsible for stress response. By stimulating the meridian points through EFT tapping, it’s claimed that the stress or negative emotion you feel from your issue can be reduced, ultimately restoring balance to your disrupted energy.

The Process of EFT Tapping

EFT tapping can be divided into five steps:

  1. Identify the issue: This will be your focal point while you’re tapping. Focusing on only one problem at a time is purported to enhance your outcome.

  2. Test the initial intensity: The intensity level is rated on a scale from 0 to 10, with 10 being the worst or most difficult.

  3. The setup: Prior to tapping, you need to establish a phrase that explains what you’re trying to address. It must focus on two main goals: acknowledging the issues and accepting yourself despite the problem.

  4. The sequence: During this step, you tap on each of the meridian points while repeating your setup phrase.

  5. Test the final intensity: At the end of your sequence, rate your intensity level on the same 0-10 scale.

EFT Tapping and Crepitus Sounds

Crepitus refers to the audible sounds that occur when a joint is moved. These sounds can be described as clicking, cracking, creaking, crunching, grating, or popping. When you perform EFT tapping, especially on the top of your head and back of your head, you might experience these crepitus sounds. This is a normal part of the process and many find it to be a relaxing and satisfying sensation. Learn more about Crepitus from this blog link, Click here

Conclusion

EFT tapping is a promising technique for those struggling with anxiety, depression, and other emotional distress. It’s a non-invasive, easy-to-learn method that you can practice anytime, anywhere to help manage your emotional health.
